A Hong Kong resident for nearly 30 years, Master of Debra Meiburg MW is an award-winning author, TV personality, consultant and speaker who is widely considered the global authority on the Asian wine market. Founding director of Meiburg Wine Media (MWM), Asia’s leading specialized wine marketing, events and public relations agency, Debra has deep roots and extensive connections to wine lovers, the trade and media across Asia. Together with MWM, she is involved in producing over 100 wine events annually, and has been championing the spread of wine culture in Asia for over 15 years. 

 

Debra is wine consultant for Cathay Pacific Airways and Cathay Dragon and holds the position of Chair of the Education Committee for the Institute of Masters of Wine.

An award-winning producer of multi-media wine edutainment products, Debra’s video content reaches over 70 million Chinese viewers monthly through taxi videos, and her wine travel television show called Taste the Wine is broadcast in 26 markets globally. Debra is active on social media with an extensive contact network across all major channels, including 51,000+ Twitter followers making her the 2nd most followed of all Masters of Wine worldwide, and the 11th most followed person in Hong Kong.

Debra founded the first truly Asian wine competition, the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, as well as the five-volume book series, Debra Meiburg’s Guide to the Asian Wine Trade, giving her unprecedented insights into Asia’s complex and diverse wine markets.

She was ranked the 7th most powerful woman in wine by The Drinks Business magazine, received the China Power List Award by WINE Magazine (China) and was named one of 7 People to Watch by Decanter Magazine. She was also awarded Entrepreneur (Women of Influence) by the South China Morning Post and the American Chamber of Commerce.
