David Allen is an English Master of Wine who moved to New Zealand in 2017 and has spent the last 2 years as Wine Director of Wine-Searcher.

 

He brought with him a broad experience of having worked in the UK wine trade. He spent five years as Fine Wine Manager for London wine merchants Coe Vintners' and prior to that had worked for specialist importer Top Selection and the pioneering online wine exchange Uvine, having begun his career spending 14 years with the iconoclastic retailer Oddbins.

 

David became a Master of Wine in 2010. He has judged regularly at International Wine Competitions and is currently Chairman of Judges at for China Wine Magazine’s Golden Bottle awards.

 

He is a WSET certified educator and is involved in the Institute of Masters of Wine Education programme.
