Richard is the Director of Intellagents, a Marketing and Innovation consultancy based in Auckland New Zealand. Having been inspired to complete a Commerce degree majoring in Marketing after working in retail wine, Richard first joined the supplier side of the wine industry as a Brand Manager with Montana responsible for Deutz, Lindauer, Montana Wines and Miami Wine Cooler.


Richard then joined SC Johnson as a Marketing Manager, and Gillette NZ as Country Manager for Oral-B successfully establishing Gillette’s Oral Care business including the revolutionary Power Brush category. Richard’s Gillette career took him to Australia and eventually North America as Country Manager of Oral-B Canada.


On his return to New Zealand, Richard continued to work on Health and Beauty with Gillette, and then re-entered the beverage industry to work with a range of blue-chip beverage brands including Bacardi, Bombay Sapphire, Grey Goose, Jack Daniels, Kim Crawford, Sacred Hill, Pol Roger, Villa Maria, 42 Below, Pure Blonde, Appletiser, Matua, Shingle Peak, Montana, and Ara Wines.


Having witnessed the launch of Montana’s original lower alcohol wine a few decades ahead of its time, Richard has been delighted to renew his acquaintance with New Zealand Lighter wines in a marketing capacity.
